Auditorium

The Auditorium is situated on the southwest side of the Community of Christ International Headquarters complex. Construction of the unique domed building began in 1926 but progress was slowed by the Great Depression. It was ultimately finished in 1962.

Auditorium ChamberThe Auditorium houses International Headquarters offices and meeting rooms, however its main feature is the 5,800-seat conference chamber with seating in-the-round beneath an expansive domed ceiling.

The Auditorium serves the church and the community as a religious, cultural, and community center—including Community Christ conferences and events, local high school graduations, community concerts, and more.

The first floor also provides a large dining room, commonly referred to as the Laurel Club, and the Lower Assembly room. These two spaces, when opened together create another large space for meetings and events.

Auditorium Organ

A 111-rank pipe organ fills the area above the rostrum. The pipes of the magnificent Aeolian-Skinner organ are the visual centerpiece of the Chamber. The largest pipes are 40 feet/12 meters tall; the smallest are smaller than a pencil.
