Participants Experience the Fire at Temple Event

A little paint, a couple of brushstrokes, and a bit of fire from the Spirit helped the Temple in Independence, Missouri, come alive for about 600 who gathered for an August event.

“I attended the class that created the artwork—it was exciting to see how my one or two strokes helped create a wonderful picture,” one person said. “The process helped each one of us to see how important we are individually and corporately.”

August 30 marked the year’s second holistic Temple Event experience. People came from as far away as Michigan to experience the fire. This event added puzzle pieces for children to collect from several actors. The characters they portrayed helped participants feel the Spirit’s fire. One person particularly enjoyed “talking with Emma Smith and learning how she made her dress and how young girls would dress in the older days.”
