First-time MEADS students Scott Norwood and Deb Spoor share in small-group reflection. |
The expectation for priesthood members to magnify their callings through continual spiritual growth, study, exemplary generosity, ethical choices, and fully accountable ministry is always present. How can the Spirit fill vessels that are unwilling to expand their capacity to receive and give according to a full measure of God’s grace and truth?
Are you looking for a way to sharpen your ministerial skills? Have you been thinking about how to expand your understanding of scripture, theology, church history, or practical ministry? If so, the Ministerial Education and Discipleship Studies (MEADS) certificate program may be what you’re looking for.
MEADS is cosponsored by the Community of Christ Seminary and Temple School. This twelve-course certificate program is designed to empower participants for ministry. The courses offer a concentrated study of foundational theology, church history, scripture, and practical ministry formation.
MEADS classes are offered twice a year. Two classes are offered during each session in the winter and summer.
Upcoming courses include Public Ministry with instructor Robin Linkhart and Hebrew Scriptures with instructors Tony and Charmaine Chvala-Smith and Kat Goheen. These classes will be offered during the summer session, August 3–7, at the Temple in Independence, Missouri.
MEADS classes are open to any interested student. Course syllabi, a schedule of classes, and other MEADS program information can be found at www.CofChrist.org/MEADS. Please register with Judith Yager or by calling 800-825-2806, ext. 2358.
