Oblation Aid to Phulbani

Oblation aid of $5,000 was sent at the end of August to Phulbani, Orissa, India. Thanks to the generous ongoing support of Oblation Fund contributors, Community of Christ is able to respond to needs of people who have been driven from their homes. Violent attacks against Christians have been based on intolerance that has increased with a rise in Hindu nationalism.

World Church minister Amson Mallick reported that more than 100 Christian villages had been demolished and several people had been killed. Continued violence in Phulbani led survivors to live in the jungle. Many were injured. Their needs include medicine and treatment, food, and clothes. Thanks to Oblation aid, Amson can organize to reach out to those in need.
