Getting ready for church in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka congregation prepares for service

Church Planted in Avissawella, Sri Lanka

A new congregation was planted at Avissawella, Sri Lanka, on February 3, 2008. The new church is a two-hour drive from Colombo.

It has taken several years to have such a congregation planted in this area. At present, around 30 nonbaptized members attend services. This includes children and youth. In the past few months, several meetings were held in different homes. Due to difficulties with travel, the congregation decided to have the church service in a central place. That meeting place became Avissawella.

Services are held on the third floor of the government building where the mayor’s office is located. People are happy to have a place to attend services.
