- In Russia and Ukraine, we’ve currently around 400 church members,” said
Apostle Leonard Young. “We’re growing fast with between 30 to 50 new members
baptized each year. Probably 75 percent of those members are young adults under
30 years of age.”

Service Corps Serves at Conference - Amid the activities and excitement
of World Conference, one could easily overlook the seemingly minor details that
allow the gathering of the worldwide body of the Community of Christ to function
smoothly.
- 2 August 2007 - An eight lane interstate bridge over the Mississippi River
in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, collapsed yesterday, August 1. There are four
confirmed dead and approximately 30 missing. Seventy-nine have been treated with
injuries.
There are three Community of Christ congregations in the Minneapolis area.
Headwaters USA/Canada Mission Center President David Lloyd reports, “I've been
in contact with all three of our pastors in the Twin Cities and they all report
that as far as they know, none of our members were on the bridge that fell
yesterday. Our son Andrew was on that bridge 30 minutes before it collapsed, but
at this time it appears that none of our church family and extended family were
involved. We continue to pray for those with losses and will do what we can.”

made at the 2007 World Conference, held in March, that the
World Hunger Fund had passed the US
$10 million mark in grants.
