Prayers Requested for Skoor Family
The Community of Christ is deeply saddened by the tragedy affecting the
Skoor family of the Renton, Washington, congregation. We will continue to
uphold all those affected by these events.
On Monday evening, October 23, John Skoor was walking on the beach in Cabo
San Lucas, Mexico, with his wife, Susan Skoor, and his sister, Debbie Fenske.
Although they were walking some distance from the water, they were
unexpectedly struck by a rogue wave associated with Tropical Storm Paul.
John’s sister was injured in the incident and is recovering. Susan was also
struck by the wave, but managed to get back to shore with only minor injuries.
Tragically, John was carried out to sea and is feared to have drowned. In the
wake of such a terrible accident, Susan has requested the prayerful support of
church members and friends.
