Ecumenical and Interfaith Officer
Dale E. Luffman is the Ecumenical and Interfaith Officer for Community of Christ. He retired from the Council of Twelve Apostles, the lead missionary quorum of Community of Christ, in April 2013. He is assigned to Ecumenical and Interfaith Relationships, Theological Education, and Special Missionary projects, and is Disciple Formation Resource Consultant.
His past assignments include the Central USA, Great Lakes USA, Northeast USA and Canada Mission Fields, Northwest/South Central Asia Mission Field, and Lamoni and Kirtland Stakes.
A native of Woodburn, Oregon, he received a bachelor of arts in elementary education from Mt. Angel College in Oregon. Dale also has a master of education in counseling from Lewis and Clark College, Portland, Oregon; a master of theology from Princeton Theological Seminary, New Jersey; and a doctor of ministry from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Pennsylvania.
Dale serves on the Faith and Order Commission of the National Council of Churches representing Community of Christ. He is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, the Academy of Homiletics, and the Society for the Study of Christian Spirituality.
Appointed as an adjunct faculty member of Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa, in 1993, Dale is an instructor for Community of Christ Seminary affiliated with Graceland University.
