Please note. The satellite is (PanAmSat) Galaxy 9 transponder 23.  This is the same satellite and transponder (channel) used for the Christmas 2000 Worship Service!  It is still in the same location that it was for the Christmas 2000 Worship Service.

If you did not tune in for the Christmas Service, be aware that this satellite moved during last year (2000) from 123 degrees west longitude to 127 degrees west longitude.  Please confirm that your dish is in the correct location! Galaxy 9 is between Galaxy 5 (PanAmSat) at 125 degrees and Telstar 7 (Loral Skynet) at 129 degrees.  Galaxy 5 carries Trinity Broadcasting (religious programming) on transponder 3 (channel 3), DirecTV infomercials on transponder 10 (channel 10), CNN Headline News on transponder 22 (channel 22) and A&E Network on transponder 23 (channel 23).

To find Galaxy 9 just tune in transponder 23 on Galaxy 5 (A&E "Arts and Entertainment") then swing your dish to the west until you see Galaxy 9.  Currently Galaxy 9 does not have very many channels that are not scrambled, but you can usually find programming or a test slate on transponder 3 (channel 3).  Transponder 3 is NHK N.Y. and when it does not have programming its test slate has color bars and a slate with NHK N.Y. on the bottom half of the screen.
