Community Covenant
|
Leader:
|
The Spirit of the Lord God is with us. |
Congregation:
|
We have been anointed to speak good tidings to the
poor,
|

to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the
captives; |

to give beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for
mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness,
that we might be called the children of God.

We covenant anew to have courage for this task that is ours. |

We commit ourselves to study and earnest
prayer that we may go forth to witness in love and concern for
all people.

With joy we dedicate our lives to the work of Zion,
