World Ministries Contribution Update

The church received an estimated $690,000 in World Ministries Mission Tithes in January, 5% more than the budgeted income for the month. Over the period of October through December, giving declined so significantly that projected tithing income for the year changed from 6% over budget to 3% under budget. With this one month of improved giving, tithing income is now projected to be $200,000 less than is needed to meet the budget.

We still need contributors to give very generously in order to meet the year’s tithing requirement of $9.8 million. The mission of Jesus Christ is what matters most for the journey ahead, and your financial support helps make that happen—in your local congregation and throughout the world.

How We Are Living Our Mission

• Young adult leaders in the Canada East Mission Centre have planted a new congregation designed specifically to appeal to other young adults. The group dedicates itself, at various gatherings, to worship, study, fellowship, and service. The church plant was made possible by a World Church missionary development grant.

• The Spokane Valley Homework Club provides reading and math tutoring for elementary school children who would otherwise be without help.

• Estate and financial planning specialists offer their services to all who want to plan for their futures.

Disciples generally make contributions to the church during worship services by using Mission Tithes offering envelopes.  Sharing equally with both Congregation Ministries and World Ministries will help "meet the needs of a growing church." —Doctrine and Covenants 154:5
