As a volunteer with the World Service Corps, your safety is our top concern. We do all we can to prepare you for your assignments, and ensure that you are kept safe and healthy, regardless of destination.
International Travel Insurance
A travel accident insurance policy is provided to cover you in case of injury or illness that may occur when traveling outside your country of residence.
Medical, security, travel advice, and emergency help 24/7 are provided for you through International SOS when traveling outside your country of residence. This is not an insurance policy but a service that is provided by the Community of Christ insurance program.
International SOS membership provides you with extensive travel assistance. Whether you have a question about a minor injury or find yourself in a life-threatening emergency, International SOS will make sure you get the appropriate help. Whatever it takes, they are only a phone call away. International SOS staff of medical and security personnel, aviation specialists, and trained operations coordinators will provide the care you need for any problem you may encounter while traveling.
Domestic Accident Insurance
As a World Service Corps volunteer serving within your country of residence, you are insured by an accident insurance when involved in activities sponsored and supervised by Community of Christ (including any of its participating jurisdictions, institutions, or affiliated or subsidiary legal entities). Coverage includes accidental bodily injury while participating in or in attendance at a volunteer work activity sponsored and supervised by the church. Travel to and from sponsored volunteer work activities within the United States in an authorized vehicle is also covered.
If you are volunteering within your country of residence, it is recommended that you retain your personal health insurance policy, if possible, to avoid any interruption in medical care preferences.
