G-14 through G-17

On Saturday, March 31, the World Conference final session did not have enough time to address all the legislation that had come before it. The First Presidency took the remaining legislation in the spirit of referral and offered brief comments as to what would be done with each.

G-14 Struggle against HIV-AIDS

(p. 334) from the French Language Caucus

The First Presidency is supportive of the spirit and intent of this resolution and will proceed to place this item on the World Church Leadership Council agenda to evaluate the church’s involvement in the struggle against HIV/Aids in order to determine the best steps to take in the struggle against HIV/Aids. The First Presidency will report to the French Language Caucus and the church.

G-15 International Men’s Gathering

(p. 334) from Second and Third Quorum of Seventy

The First Presidency will explore this issue and determine whether or not such an event can be adequately planned, supported, and implemented given our current staff capacity. This will be placed on the agenda of the WMCT, and the outcome will be reported to the Presidents of Seventy and the church.

G-16 Save Darfur

(p. 334) from the Quorum of High Priests

The First Presidency is supportive of the spirit of this resolution and will proceed, by its own authority, to investigate what additional steps can be taken to encourage additional response from the World Church and the membership to crisis in Darfur, including exploring the appropriateness of membership in the Save Darfur Coalition. The First Presidency will report to the Quorum of High Priests, World Church Leadership Council, and the church.

G-17 Continuing Scriptural Exploration of Peace and War

(p. 335) from the Aaronic Mass Meeting

All of the provisions of this resolution are already in progress after discussion in the World Church Leadership Council and the Standing High Council.
