Announcements

Plan now to attend the 2005 World Conference, June 2–5, and celebrate the theme “Lift Up an Ensign of Peace.” This Conference will provide for ordination of the new president and calls of other World Church leaders as well as opportunities for worship and fellowship, including an address by the new president of the church. Register online with a credit card, or print a form to mail, at www.CofChrist.org/wc2005/reg-instruction.asp

Delegate seating: Check here for delegate seating locations.

Volunteers for World Conference needed: If you are planning to attend the World Conference June 2-5, 2006, and are not serving as a delegate but have a strong desire to provide special ministry, assistance is needed for volunteers in Facility Services doing setup for the various services/programs for the Conference. You must be at least 18 years old, able to lift a minimum of 55 pounds, do extensive walking, follow directions, and be available a minimum of 5 hours each day. Schedules can be flexible starting at 6:00 a.m. through 11:00 p.m. June 2-4. (Some later hours may be requested.) Hours on June 5 are 6:00 a.m.-noon. If you would like to assist with this important ministry, please contact Kathy Marek at kmarek@CofChrist.org or (816) 833-1000, ext. 2356, World Church Human Resource Ministries.

Canadian donations: The church is accepting donations made at Conference in Canadian dollars in support of World Conference expenses. Donations over $20 will be issued an income tax receipt from the Canadian Headquarters. Donations will be accepted at Conference in Canadian dollars (cash or cheque). Make cheques payable to the Bishop of Canada. Please ensure that cheques display your name and address. If your donation is in cash, please enclose the cash in an envelope indicating same.

Members and friends may help provide for World Conference through a special offering. Greeting friends from around the world, multicultural worship, and sharing in historic decisions make this a time of joy for those who attend and those who participate via the Internet and satellite. The entire church benefits from the testimonies shared and decisions made that will carry the church into the future, yet only a portion of the $250,000 cost is covered by registration fees. Contribute online or write in “World Conference” on the World side of your Mission Tithes offering envelope to contribute. In the United States, a special envelope will be included in the May offering envelope mailing.

Live Broadcasts: Eight legislative and worship services will be broadcast live for members and friends around the world who cannot attend World Conference in person, including the president’s ordination and sermon. Broadcasts will be available using C-band satellite, Dish Network (USA; president’s ordination and sermon only), Internet streaming, and Comcast Cable (Eastern Jackson County, Missouri, and Olathe, Kansas). See future Heralds and www.CofChrist.org/broadcast/ for details as they become available, and make plans now to gather with members and friends to share in these historic events.
