Bronze
Doors
The largest work of bronze is the exterior Community of Christ church
seal, a symbol of the peaceable kingdom of God showing a lion, lamb, and
little child. This seal covers three doors that exit onto the World
Plaza where brickwork represents the continents of the earth.
The
Dove is a symbol of peace appearing on bronze door handles throughout
the Temple. They were designed by artist Barney Newcom and
molded by the foundry of Jay Westwood from a pattern made by George
"Sonny" Sharrar. |
