AFTER-SCHOOL CHILDREN AND MOMS NUTRITION AND HEALTH (Health Ministries Association). Provides classes to children in extended-day programs that address diet, exercise, and disease prevention, as well as classes for caregivers and parents. (2004, 2006)

ASSESSMENT OF THE DYNAMICS OF HIV/AIDS (Copper Belt Region of Northern Zambia and Southern Democratic Republic of the Congo). Carried out via Outreach International in partnership with Counterpart International and Community of Christ Africa Region to gain data and an understanding of the cultural and sociological aspects of the spread and treatment of AIDS through a participatory study, and create effective interventions.  Provide information for approaching major funding sources to implement the effective interventions so created. BRIDGES TO PEACE (Central Oregon District). An environment for children and communities to explore peace. (1999)

CAMP HORIZON (Roswell, Georgia). A program for abused and neglected children. (1997, 1998, 2000)

CHILDREN OF PEACE OUTREACH (Buffalo, New York). Program to help low-income families develop computer and social interaction skills. (2003, 2004, 2005)

CHILDREN'S B.E.S.T. (Mobile, Alabama). An after-school educational enrichment program for at-risk elementary students, kindergarten through second grade. (2003)

CIRCLE OF PEACE (Grand Rapids, Michigan). Hands on training, workshops, exhibits, and peace festival for local churches, colleges, and youth-leading-youth groups. (2000)  [news article]

COMMUNITY BETTERMENT (St. Joseph, Missouri) Provides youth programming and youth leader training. Teaches the worth of every person and community building skills of teamwork and problem solving.  (2004, 2005)

COMMUNITY CONFLICT SERVICES RESTORATIVE JUSTICE SCHOOL PROJECT (St. Louis, Missouri) To create an environment that accepts diversity, holds those that harm accountable for their actions, attempts to repair the harm to the victim, and works toward building a safe school community. (2007)

COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT CENTER (Dundalk, Maryland).  To create a local non-profit center to initiate the Participatory Human Development (PHD) process in the community close to the church. (2002, 2003)

COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATION (Midlands Mission Center, Missouri/Kansas). To provide health education to several underserved populations. (2003)

COMMUNITY HOPE RECOVERY (World AccordEl Salvador). Promote sustainable community development of poor laborers outside San Salvador. (2000, 2002, 2003)

CREATION OF A WORK COOPERATIVE (Santiago, Chile). A program oriented to give training to people with potential in the areas of design, confection, and textiles in order to create a setting for sustainable development. (2005)

EMPOWERING IMMIGRANTS (Novato, California). A program that teaches English to immigrant adults involving volunteers from the community. (2003, 2004, 2005)

EMPOWERMENT OF WOMENCORDI (India, via World Accord, Canada). Women’s shelter, empowerment, social education to create equality and opportunity. (1997, 1999, 2000)  [stories from CORDI]

ENCOUNTER WORLD’S RELIGIONS (First Canadian Mission, Canada). A peace and justice resource project for interreligious education and dialogue. (2000, 2001, 2002)

ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (Senatobia, Mississippi). To teach English to a large influx of families. Others to receive citizenship orientation or learn job skills.  (2004)

FAMDEGUA (Guatemala) A human rights organization that works on behalf of families of missing persons. (2000, 2001)

FAMILY EDUCATION PROJECT (Newark, California). A working model for collaboration among churches and alcohol/drug providers. (1999)

FAMILY LIFE CENTER AND PRE-SCHOOL (Walthill, Nebraska). Creates a Christ-centered place of belonging and healing within an integrated community including Native Americans where all can receive tools for living. (2004, 2005, 2006)

FAMILY SUPPORT SPECIALIST (Omaha-Council Bluffs Stake).  To hire a part-time "Family Support Specialist" to organize programs to support families that use thrift store and pantry. (2002, 2003)

FOLK-TIME (Portland, Oregon). A project for meeting human needs of chronic mentally ill adults in the metropolitan area. (2000, 2001, 2003, 2007)

FREEDOM (Pensacola, Florida).  This project is to assist persons who have been institutionalized, to re-enter society with a better lifestyle than they had before. (2001, 2002)

FREMONT CHILDREN'S PEACE PAVILION (Fremont, California). A pilot satellite of the Children's Peace Pavilion that will promote peace among the many different cultures represented in Fremont. (2005)

FRIENDS UNITED TEACHER'S TRAINING (Oak Hill, Missouri/Honduras). Work with Honduras Department of Education to establish a model school that will increase their nationwide standards. (2003, 2004, 2005) Designed an educational coloring book to be distributed with shoes and crayons teaching children and parent's hookworm protection. (2007)

GATEWAY TO PEACE MUSEUM (St. Louis, Missouri). Promotes peace in local and extended communities through peace education for children ages 5 to 12 and their families via a traveling museum. (2004, 2005)

GOOD SAMARITAN PEACE AND JUSTICE RECREATION CENTER (Kenya, Africa). Establishment of a center for tribal children to strengthen peace building efforts. (2000)

GRANDVIEW COMMUNITY CENTER (Kansas City, Kansas). Provides community support for those with language barriers: computer training, help with homework, basic cooking classes, conflict resolution. (2003)

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY (Beacon Heights Congregation, Missouri).  To build one Habitat for Humanity home in co-operation with other area churches and Three Trail Neighbors. (2002)

HEALTHY FAMILIES-CAPA (Independence, Missouri). Support of growth/maintenance of strong healthy families-abuse prevention. (1998, 1999)

HELPING HANDS SERVICE CAMP (South Central States Region). A service camp for senior high, young adults and adults for low income homeowners for housing renovation and weatherization in Jonesboro, Arkansas. (2001, 2002, 2003)

HOUSTON OUTREACH TASKNORTH SHEPHERD PROJECT (Houston, Texas). Offers a free clothing and classes in English literacy and English as a second language for a low-income Hispanic community. (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006)

HUMAN DIGNITY AND PEACE (Soviet Union).  An international partnership of support by the Tonganoxie Community of Christ and the community at large for three very deserving entities in the former Soviet Uniontwo orphanages and a nursing home. (2002)

IMANI MISSION CENTER (Columbia, Missouri). This urban ethnic ministry uses participatory human development by creating an environment that empowers individuals to make good choices. (2000, 2002, 2003)

INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK AND DAY CARE REFURBISHING (Orlando, Florida). Establishment of INH for two counties and refurbishment of a day care center. (2001, 2002, 2003)

INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK (Gulfport, Mississippi). Providing temporary shelter and social program assistance to single- and two-parent families. (2001, 2002)

KIDS PLACE AFTER SCHOOL DROP IN CENTER (Stone ChurchIndependence, Missouri). After-school drop-in center for schoolchildren in an at-risk neighborhood. (1999, 2000)

LA BUENA FE INQUIRY (Central America Mission Center, Honduras) Provides for independent services in reconciliation  (two grants in 2004).

LIBERIA LIFE SKILLS AND CRAFTS (Logan Town, Monrovia). To support struggling persons living in the impoverished city to learn hands on basic cultural skills. (2006, 2007)

LITERACY AND CHILD SURVIVALCARIBBEAN SCHOOLS PROGRAM (Haiti and the Dominican Republic). Partnership with Outreach International to implement a strategy to support and further develop the school program in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.  (2003, 2004, 2006)

LOVE & LOGIC PARENTING (Alva-Hulett, Wyoming). Providing parents with skills for successful parenting. (2000)

MEETING NEED IN COMMUNITY (Canada).  To help a small community provide recreation for young people and upgrade the capability to offer local food and meal support to the community. Also to upgrade computer for training and help with an after-school program. (2002)

MISSOURI IMPACT ONLINE ADVOCACY (State of Missouri).  Informs voters of the current legislative alerts and the background on our priority legislative issues.(2001, 2002, 2003)

MOBILE PEACE MUSEUM (Lamoni, Iowa). A collaborative effort between congregation and Graceland University to serve thirteen counties. (2000)

NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS (Ooltewah, Tennessee). Teen program to provide mobile home park ministry. (2000)

NEW AMERICANS SOCIAL & CULTURAL ASSISTANCE (Ridgefield, Washington). Assist refugees and immigrants in SW Washington to thrive in American culture. (1999, 2001)

NORTON HEIGHTS COMMUNITY OUTREACH MINISTRIES (Kansas City, Missouri). Increases language, academic, and life skills development within multicultural neighborhoods that nurture relationships.  (2003, 2004, 2005)

PEACE TRAILS (Far West Stake). The goal is to teach problem-solving skills to youth and the skills necessary for good teamwork and to foster self-esteem and mutual respect. (2000)

PEACE WORKS (Far West Stake). Education for schoolchildren in peacemaking and conflict resolution. (1998, 2000, 2001, 2002)

PEACEMAKERS CLUB (Puttalum, Sri Lanka) To provide a sound and effective program that addresses the compassionate needs and hope of the Children in the Puttalum area. (2007)

PEACEMOBILE OTTAWA VALLEY (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada). Project to expand the PeaceMobile, which includes translation into French. (2002)

PRE-SCHOOL PEACE PROJECT (Hawaii). Trains and supports the pre-school to be a model of integrating peacemaking activities and philosophy into the school's teaching and curriculum. (2004)

PROJECT HOPE (Grove, Oklahoma). Brings hope to the inmates at Delaware County jail by ministering to their spiritual and physical needs. (2005)

RANGIMARIE (New Zealand). Small-group outreach program, study for adults on issues related to peace and justice. (2001)

RAYTOWN HABITAT FOR HUMANITY (Raytown, Missouri). Congregation and community involvement in providing a housing project. (2000)

REDBUD AREA MINISTRIES (Buchanan, Michigan). Reroofing building that houses food, clothing, furniture bank, and offices. (1998, 1999, 2000)

SEWING PROJECT #2 (Honduras). Sewing machine training for industry jobs and clothing for families. (1999, 2000, 2003)

SMALL FAMILY LOAN PROGRAM (China). Provides rural residents an opportunity to borrow money interest free for up to 12 months in order to engage in business or to increase farming productivity. (2004)

SURVIVAL ADULT ABUSE CENTER (Warrensburg, Missouri). Partnering with community to provide a center for those surviving adult abuse. (1998, 2000)

SUSTAINING HUMAN AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (Karamba, Sri Lanka). To sustain human and community development via the contraction and staffing of a vocational community center for relocated village members hit by the tsunami. (2006, 2007)

TARGET EARTH (Detroit, Michigan). Involving students in an ecology-based peace and justice program. (2000)

THE PLACE (Kansas City, Missouri). Creates a safe community to find healing, self worth, and personal growth through education, advocacy, and community collaboration. (2005, 2006, 2007)

TOVWIRANE CENTER (Africa). Budget support for a group working to eradicate HIV/AIDS and its impacts. (1999, 2001)

UGUNJA ORPHAN’S CARE UNIT (Ugunja, Africa) To provide education for HIV/AIDS orphans. (2007)

VERONICA’S VOICE (Norton Heights Community of Christ, Missouri).  To try to encourage prostitutes to make lifestyle changes that lead to recovery of mind, body, and spirit. (2002)

VICTIM-OFFENDER MEDIATION (Independence, Missouri). Provides restorative justice opportunities that can heal lives and reconcile relationships for juvenile offenders and their victims referred by the court.  (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007)

VOCATIONAL TRAINING (Chardonierre, Haiti). Provides alternative economic development and vocational training for young wage earners. (2005)

WE ARE COMMUNITY (Holden, Missouri). To expand and increase efficiency of services for physical needs and education. (2000, 2001, 2003)
