World Church Teams
The following ten teams and
committees that report to the church's World Conference are called "World Church
Teams." World Conferences passed resolutions to create some of these
committees, and the church's First Presidency appointed others.
These teams consider
legislation referrals from the 2007 World Conference, evaluate proposals from
church leadership, and plan events. They promote education and
dialogue, update web pages, draft statements for wider consideration, and
communicate with the church about their subjects. They maintain relationships
with other organizations, and share the good news. Out of this work, they pass
their meeting records to the First Presidency, make recommendations to the First Presidency,
write articles for the Herald, plan events, and report to the World
Conference.

-
The
Theology Formation Team
encourages theological reflection among the membership of the church and
provides invaluable help to church leaders in bringing clarity and focus in these areas.
Core members of the team serve in the Council of Twelve, teach in the Seminary,
and are world church ministers who are integrally involved in articulating
church vision and mission.
Diversity
-
The
Diversity Team focuses on honoring
the worth of persons and their diversity, particularly as related to culture and
ethnicity. Additional foci include justice issues related to gender,
disabilities, and other diversities that divide rather than unite us.
Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations
-
The Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations Team helps to make the Community of
Christ better known and understood in ecumenical and interfaith groups,
representing the church on ecumenical and interfaith boards, committees and building relationships with organizations
whose
goals and principles are in alignment with ours. The team assists the World
Church Leadership Council, field ministers
and members by sharing information, offering advice and encouragement and
identifying ways for individuals and groups to be involved in ecumenical and
interfaith activities.
