SPORTING CONDUCT EXPECTATIONS
- Willful and intentional Christian interaction is the norm for all facets of SPECTACULAR. The sports program will function with that objective as the guiding principle for the actions of all participants, officials, coaches and spectators. While we may not always agree with one another we will always appreciate and honor each other.
- Sportsmanship Awards will be given in each of the team sports to acknowledge those teams and delegations who most consistently allow this attitude to guide their actions.
- Most conduct issues relate inherently to the sport involved and will be dealt with in that context. At the same time it is clear that some behavior potentially impugns the very essence of SPEC itself. In those infrequent cases the sports staff and/or the SPEC administrative staff will impose more pervasive sanctions.
- Profanity will not be tolerated. The party will be initially reminded. A second reminder will result in separation of that person from the contest. (Players would be removed from the contest, coaches will be replaced for the contest, spectators will be asked to leave, etc.)
- Fighting and physical harassment cannot be allowed. Any infraction will result in separation of that person from the contest. (see above) Any such infraction may result in suspension from further involvement with that sport.
- Unsportsmanlike behavior of any other nature will be dealt with immediately by application of the normal sanctions which govern such actions in the sport involved.
