Advanced painting class—each student will paint a symbol from his or her own country or a personal symbol representing world peace. The panels will be assembled together when completed. Daily attendance required.
Quilting—Delores Dorland (Student Gallery Helene Center, north side, Limit 10)
Learn an art form that is as old as the hills and as new as your imagination. Learn the basics while making your own mini masterpiece to take home. A simple quilt can be completed in 3 class sessions. Opportunity to work on the projects in the afternoon may be arranged.
Stained-glass—Bob Phillips & Terri Snethen (Classroom Helene Center, Limit 12)
Learn the art of leaded glass construction while making a leaded glass panel to take home.

For students taking the class last year, they will make a leaded glass lampshade to take home. A group project to be donated to the Art Show may be worked on in the afternoons.
Beaded Banner Class—Delores Dorland (Student Gallery Helene Center, north side)
Make a picture banner using only colored beads, needle and thread. No fabric involved. The picture can be seen from both sides. You may make your own design or use a pattern. Daily attendance required.
Calling All Angels—Larry and Sharon Norris (Sandage study)
You could save a life! Personal experience and a DVD will be used to teach the signs of depression to help prevent suicide.
Leadershift: Leading Radical Change in a Complacent World—Ron Harmon, Amanda Edsall, Zac McLaughlin, Katie Harmon (Heritage Chapel - Ad Bldg)
Leadership is the art of influencing a shift in perspective and actions that lead to God's vision for our world. This class will explore key global issues of our time - poverty, enivornmental sustainablity and consumerism.

If you are interested in Polynesian culture, like taking your shoes off, and have no previous hip-swinging injuries then this class is for YOU!
Universal Symbols Personal Banner—Janice Wagner (Painting Studio Helene Center, Limit 25)
All levels. Using oil pastels and universal symbols you will create a personal banner. Learn five universal shapes and what they mean. See them applied in cultures around the world.. The results are stunning! Daily attendance required.

Golf is a life long sport. If you are interested in learning the basics or refreshing your skills, then this class is for you. Fundamentals of the game will be reviewed.
**The SPEC Golf Tournament will be held during the morning class. If you are interested in playing in the golf tournament, you must sign up for the tournament and allocate your morning class time to play.

Create unique and personalized greeting cards by making marble paper and a woven bookmark and then creating waterfall cards, pop-up cards, and a bookmark card.

Learn the basic building techniques and try your hand at the potter’s wheel. Daily attendance is encouraged and may be necessary for project completion. Check with the instructors about Raku firing at dusk—a sight not to be missed!

Dancing on demons, singing bowls, body piercing and modification, and dead people coming back to life. Come and explore bizarre religious beliefs from around the world, as well as Christian Theology, and see how they fit with your own beliefs.

So you think you can dance? I think YOU can while getting a high energy workout at the same time! We'll be exploring Latin dances like salsa, cumbia, and merengue! We'll even get into some Bollywood busta moves!
