GOLF
Coordinator – Jon Hampton
The Spectacular Golf tournament will be an eighteen-hole event as it has been
in the past. Each player can play a practice round on Sunday if they wish. First
round must be completed by Tuesday evening and the final round should be
completed by Thursday evening. Try to complete rounds as soon as possible to
avoid scheduling conflicts with other activities later in the week. Golfers
must check in and sign in at the pro shop or with me before they start a
practice or tournament round. Each player needs to try to get together with
other SPEC golfers, counselors, or my self to avoide playing a tournament round
alone.
The course is surrounded by a fence, which marks the out of Bounds area. The
creek and all ponds will be played as a lateral hazard. PGA rules will govern
the tournament with the exception of a 10-stroke limit per hole. This means that
as soon as a golfer reaches 10 strokes on any single hole, that golfer will pick
the ball up and proceed to the next tee, or wait for others in the group to
finish the hole. Record a 10 on your scorecard. This allows the group to
continue a reasonable rate of play.
I will be out at the course most afternoons for golfers to check in. The PGA
professional Dave Ranney will also be at the course in the afternoon, and
golfers can check in with him at the pro shop. Please take a card (available in
the silver box outside the pro shop) and record your score for every hole and
the total for each nine holes. The scorecard needs to be turned in to the pro
shop after your round or to me at the next morning gathering. Score cards must
include: PRINTED NAME (so I can read it); DELEGATION NAME, DATE AND
TIME. Please check each score, then total and have each player sign the card for
verification of the score.
STARTING TIMES
Sunday – 12 noon
Monday – 12 noon
Tuesday – 12 noon; must be off the course by 5:45 p.m. due to the

The Lamoni Country Club is a private golf club, so please be respectful of
its members and the course. Shirts must be worn at all times while on the golf
course. Please take care of the course by replacing divots and repairing ball
marks on the greens. Soft spike golf shoes only please.
