1. Time format: Typically, each game will be 45 minutes in length with
the following breakout of time: (a) warm-up 5 minutes (b) 2 halves - 15
minutes each. At the 2 minute mark of the second half normal stop time will
be utilized if the two teams are (1) 10 or less points of each other in Blue
and Green play; (2) 15 or less points of each other in Red and Gold play.
(3) If we are using stop clock in the last 2 minutes play reverts to normal
high school rules; (c) half-time 2 minutes; (d) 2 one-minute time-outs per
team per game.
2. When a team is fouled in a non-shooting foul situation, during
running clock, they will receive 1 point and the ball out of bounds. On
the 10th foul in a half, the team that is fouled will automatically
receive 2 points but not the ball.
3. When a player is fouled in the act of shooting, during running
clock, their team will receive 1 point. If they miss the shot, their
team will receive the ball out of bounds. If the shot is made, their team
will receive credit for the basket as well.
4. On a flagrant foul, the player committing the foul will be
ejected from the game. The opponents will be awarded 2 points and the ball
out of bounds. The ejected player must sit out the next game. If a player
commits two flagrant fouls during the week, they will lose the privilege of
competing the rest of the week.
5. On technical fouls the opponents will receive 2 points and the
ball out of bounds. If a player/coach receives two technical fouls during
the week they will lose the privilege of competing/coaching the rest of the
week.
6. When a player commits an intentional foul, during running
clock, their opponent will receive 2 points and the ball out of bounds.
7. Overtime: Two minutes in length. Each team will have only one
time out. If there is a need for a second overtime, the players who were
playing will each shoot a free-throw. Whichever team makes the most
free-throws wins. If there is still a tie, the teams will alternate
free-throw shots until one team cannot match the other team. A coin toss
will determine the first team to shoot.
8. Three point rule: The rule will be used if the three point line
is marked.
9. Forfeit time: Your team must be on time. Game will start when
five players are present. Teams not ready to play within 10 minutes will
forfeit. If you have a schedule conflict see a tournament coordinator
immediately. Games will not be held for coaches.
10. Roster: Additions can be made during the week through the
tournament coordinator. NO additions will be accepted for play-off
competitions unless the team has an injury or departure problems.
11. Teams Seating: Coaches and substitute players will be expected to
be seated on the sidelines during competition; not obstructing the
score table’s view.
12. Uniforms: Teams are required to wear numbered jerseys. The legal
number sizes: front - 4 inches; back - 6 inches. If at all possible have
jerseys with no digit higher than 5. Example: 55 Digits NOT preferred are 6
through 9. Example: 59 (the 9 is not preferred). If a team is
not able to provide jerseys or the two teams have similar color uniforms,
jerseys will be provided.
13. Balls: Each team will supply their own warm-up balls. Game balls
will be provided for the game only.
14. Officials: The referee officials will be provided.
15. Jewelry, caps, visors, bandanas, dew rags, or any type of cast
worn by a player are not allowed. Taping jewelry is not acceptable.
