JOHN S.
WIGHT
John Stewart Wight, a minister for the Community of Christ, is assigned to
Central and Michigan USA Field as the Field Missionary Coordinator and Mission
Center Missionary Coordinator for Central Mission Center. He also serves as a
President of Seventy. He was set apart to serve in this capacity in April 1998.
Prior to serving as a World Church field minister, John was employed as the
director of Computer Operations for Joint Action in Community Service, a
national non-profit, volunteer organization working with at-risk youth. He had
been with this organization since July 1986. He was responsible for providing
computer support for all JACS computer operations in its regional and national
offices.
John received a bachelor of arts degree in communication arts from Michigan
State University and a master of arts in religion from Graceland University.
John is a professional registered parliamentarian and a member of the National
Association of Parliamentarians. In his spare time he enjoys photography, scuba
diving, backpacking, canoeing, computers and sports. John received the world
church International Youth Service Award in 1981 for his volunteer service and
ministry to youth.
He is married to Carole Fisher Wight, and they have six children: John, Ana,
Jared, Jordan, Jena, and Joelle.
