Asbestos Removal Projects

A wide variety of building materials contain asbestos. If you are unsure if planned work or repairs may disturb materials containing asbestos, please contact Risk Management and Legal Services prior to performing any work, including work to be done by church members or volunteers, as this is a serious health and safety concern. We can assist you with identifying materials known to have asbestos.

In addition, given the health risks and variation in state laws involving asbestos removal, any jurisdiction needing asbestos removal should contact Risk Management and Legal Services prior to entering into any agreement or contract involving asbestos. Risk Management will assist with insurance coverage and claims, and Legal Services will prepare the necessary contract documents which must be utilized for asbestos abatement service providers, contractors, and subcontractors.
