Insurance and Bonding

Risk - Insurance and Bonding
Proper insurance is required of every vendor, service provider, contractor, or sub-contractor. Building projects in excess of $100,000 also require a payment and performance bond from the general contractor. Evidence of coverage is provided by a “Certificate of Insurance,” and such certificates are required before the project or lease begins.

The specific coverages and limits required differ according to the type of work and the scope of the project. Each category below includes a link to a sample certificate that you can use as a guide to determine the suitability of a particular vendor or contractor.

If you have questions about these requirements, please contact Rick Boyd or the Legal Services representative that is working with you on your contract or lease. If you think it is appropriate to request a modification of these requirements, please request a copy of the counterparties existing certificate and forward it along with your request.
