Invitation

I greet you in the name of Jesus Christ and welcome you to this time or worship and prayer with God’s spirit of peace.

Each day in this Temple dedicated to the pursuit of peace, we pray for peace and uphold one of the nations of the world.

Today we remember the people of Lebanon in our prayers.  Located in the Middle East, Lebanon has a Middle Eastern culture combined with many Western influences. There is an ongoing battle between the Christian and Muslim political leaders which caused a 16 year civil war during the 1970’s to 1990’s. The Lebanese have made progress since 1997 toward rebuilding their political institutions and regaining their national sovereignty.  Outbreaks of violence continue.

We unite in worship and prayer recognizing our need for Christ’s peace in our lives.  Let us also respond to God’s call to pursue peace for the people of Lebanon, the people of all nations, and for all creation.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for having created me, to have placed me in this world in order to serve my friend.

Through your purposes, You have enabled me to contemplate your magnificence and your love.

You have granted me knowledge in order to share the good news and tell your story in the Scriptures. Once again, Thank You, Eternal Father for having created me.

I am in this world where discord, violence and blight reign; but I believe in You and I know that someday all this will come to an end if we pursue peace. This peace, we must continue to seek as it is written in scripture and promised through the gift of your son, Jesus.

Eternal Father, we need your presence, your light, so we may be able to offer our time, talents and treasure to our neighbor, our friends.

Thank you Heavenly Father for this moment, important for me and for my friends here below. Amen.
