Welcome to this time of prayer
for peace, and we greet you in the name of the Prince of Peace. It is
good to have you share in the prayers today. Each day in this Temple,
dedicated to the pursuit of peace, we pray to God for peace in our
world. In addition, each day we pray for a different country.
Today we will remember the people of Belgium in our prayers. Belgium is
located in Europe, between France and Germany, and is ruled by a federal
parliamentary democracy under a constitutional monarch. The headquarters
of the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO),
Belgium today is home to a vast army of diplomats.
"Come Lord Jesus, enter into our hearts and minds as we worship together
in your name. Amen." |

For the kingdom of God is a matter not of
eating and drinking, but of justice, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
If we all serve Christ this way, we will be pleasing to God and
respected by our sisters and brothers. |

Our Gracious Lord and Friend,
We seek you in the silence, because you speak to our hearts.
We seek you in your magnificent world, because we have so much
to learn.
We seek you through all people, because we need to discover
the ways of peace.
We seek you in our work, because you call us to serve.
Accept our praise for your gracious goodness.
Bless our best desires and yearnings for peace as we are
guided to discover your ways.
We pray in the spirit of the Prince of Peace. Amen. |

Prayers of the People
Please join us now, praying the Prayers of the People. During the
moments of silence, you are invited to pray silently or meditate. |
| |
Lord of all space, we thank you for knowing us. We thank
you for family, friends, those who will be friends, the earth and all
its bounty. |

We rejoice when one step is made toward peace between nations, but know
the journey is long and the steps are many. On this day, please hear our
prayers concerning the nation and the people of Belgium. May they be
encouraged to continue their quest for justice for all people. |
| The People Pray in Silence |
| |
We lament the causes of injustice and seek enlightenment that we may
understand better our part in peace for the world. We confess that we
are less than you created us to be and humbly ask forgiveness. |
| The People Pray in Silence |
| |
We pray for courage to be your presence in actions of justice,
compassion, tenderness, and love. We ask for divine forgiveness when we
have not been compassionate or loving or just. |
| The People Pray in Silence |
| |
O Loving God, we pray for our church leaders
who are preparing for World Conference in April. May we all be open to
the Holy Spirit as we join our hearts and minds to seek your will and
direction. |
| The People Pray in Silence |
| |
Please use this space to pray for any
current concern or event in our community, city, state, nation or world
that you feel needs to be held up to God for prayerful consideration.
|
| The People Pray in Silence |
| |
We would not forget the need for peace in ourselves, our families, our
nation, and our church. Hear our concerns, we pray. |
