April 6, 1974 Ministry of Reconciliation

Whereas, The love of the Lord Jesus Christ reaches out to all persons in need; and

Whereas, The Lord Jesus Christ illustrated the redemptive love of God in the parable of the prodigal son; and

Whereas, There often exists in the lands in which the church is established the problem of persons evading military service; and

Whereas, Such persons are often imprisoned or forced into exile from their homelands; and

Whereas, Bitterness among the citizens of such lands prevents the redemptive love of God from healing the wounds which separate families, friends, and fellow citizens; therefore, be it

Resolved, That the membership of the church be encouraged to advocate and work toward such reconciliation, when able to do so in good conscience, so that all men might have love toward one another and be free to come to Christ.
