Interpersonal Peacemaking
As we are called to be "ensigns of peace" within our
congregations and communities, the World Church Reconciliation/Conflict
Resolution Ministries is offering training that will enhance our abilities to create and sustain positive relationships with each other.
Because God created each of us uniquely, we have differences. This
15-hour training helps people understand themselves in the midst of
differences and discover how the strengths of
differences can help us be less conflicted and more productive. These
concepts are presented through personal assessments, activities, and
discussion. The middle section of the training works on communication
skills helpful in dealing with differences. The final part of the
training gives the participants a model for decision making. Participants
leave this training with understandings and exposure to skills that
enable them to share concerns, deepen relationships, and be examples of
zionic living. Participants will have gained knowledge and skills to
assist them in going directly to another person with whom they are
having a difference and working toward a resolution.

This course teaches adults how to use a Talk It Out curriculum
in order to teach children, kindergarten through 5th grade, the skills
for peacefully resolving their disagreements. This is a 3-hour course. Prerequisite:
Completion of Interpersonal Peacemaking Top |
Listening Ear
Listening Ear training equips people to be attentive listeners when
one person comes to them about an issue of concern. This training works on skills that help the listener guide a
person to recognize, access, and structure his/her resources to deal with their
situation in a healthy, positive
manner. Listening Ear participants learn how to
assist one party without fixing them, giving advice, or counseling.
This training is a fifteen hour course. This would be especially helpful
for evangelist and teacher priesthood members.
Prerequisite: completion of Interpersonal Peacemaking training.
