New
Art Exhibit
Stop by the Temple employee entrance to view the new photographs hanging in
the exhibit area. The featured artist is Steve Shields.
Steve began experimenting with photography during his elementary school years
when his mother gave him her old Kodak Brownie camera. Steve took the photos in
this display with a simple, pocket-sized Canon digital camera. The scenes are
from Hong Kong, Thailand, and China. Many of the pieces on display are printed
on canvas, using conventional photographic processing methods. The canvas is
coated with silver halide, the digital photograph is exposed onto the medium
with light, and the canvas “print” is chemically processed in the same way as
photographic paper is traditionally processed.
Character
Plus
RESPONSIBILITY – to be accountable for
your actions. Independence School District and surrounding community is
focusing on the character trait of responsibility during September. We
are all called to responsibility to one another – our communities, large
and small.
Life is a promise; fulfill it.—Mother
Teresa
It is not only for what we do that we are held
responsible, but also for what we do not do.—John
Baptiste Moliére
"I must do something" always solves more problems than
"Something must be done."
