IHQ Survey Results
A presentation and discussion about the IHQ Survey results will be held on
Wednesday, April 2 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. in the Temple Continents room.
A morning snack will be provided so come prepared to join in discussions on
issues from the survey and ideas of how IHQ can continue to improve our
teamwork, culture, and environment.
British Organist Plays Tonight
Simon Thomas Jacobs will play an exciting organ program tonight at 7:30 p.m.
in the Auditorium. You can read more about this exciting young artist at
www.CofChrist.org/worship/dome_spire/. The concert is free and open to the
public.
Photos and Bios
If you need photos and biographical sketches for an appointee or field
minister, contact Linda Mountenay at
lmountenay@CofChrist.org or Linda Bates at
lbates@CofChrist.org.
Extra Office Supplies
As spring cleaning continues, many extra supplies have been found and are now
in the Temple Mailroom on the metal shelves. Feel free to come and take any
supplies you might need for your office or you can add items to the collection
you no longer need for the benefit of someone else.
New Head Chaplain
After more than 12 years of volunteer service as Head Chaplain, Finis Easter
is retiring from that role. He will continue to work with Temple School courses
and serve as a chaplain.
Ken Stobaugh, who has served for many years as a chaplain has agreed to
accept the role of Head Chaplain. We are very appreciative of the service of
these ministers who both are retired appointees and continue to serve the church
in these volunteer roles.

36 Tips for a Less Stressful Life
- Pray.
- Go to bed on time.
- Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
- Say No to projects that won't fit into your schedule, or that will
compromise your mental health.
- Delegate tasks to capable others.
- Simplify and unclutter your life.
- Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too
many.)
- Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
- Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time;
don't lump the hard things all together.
- Take one day at a time.
- Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, pray about
it and let go of the anxiety. If you can't do anything about a situation,
forget it.
- Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.
- Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried
in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
- K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an
enormous amount of trouble.
- Do something for the kid in you everyday.
- Carry a book of poetry with you to read while waiting in line.
- Get enough rest.
- Eat right.
- Get organized so everything has its place.
- Listen to a tape or CD while driving that can help improve your quality
of life.
- Write down thoughts and inspirations.
- Every day, find time to be alone.
- Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in
the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.
- Make friends with Godly people.
- Keep a folder of favorite sayings on hand.
- Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a
good 'Thank you God.'
- Laugh.
- Laugh some more!
- Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
- Develop a forgiving attitude – most people are doing the best they can.
- Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
- Sit on your ego.
- Talk less; listen more.
- Slow down.
- Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
- Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that
you've never been grateful for before.
