connecting the Community of Christ staff community

Joint E-Group Opportunity

February Enrichment Group Meetings bring opportunity to share together in an all-staff diversity training led by Derrick Williams on Wednesday, February 6, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. in the Auditorium assembly room. Due to scheduling needs all Enrichment Groups will come together for this educational opportunity.

Derrick serves as the church’s African-American Ministries Specialist and Co-Leader of the Community of Christ Diversity Team. Our focus for the morning will be diversity training within the context of sanctuary, while also recognizing February is Black History Month.

All staff are encouraged to arrange their schedules to attend this important training session. This training is part of our ongoing educational opportunities here at International Headquarters Watch for the sign-in table and pick up a participation certificate for your educational files.

A light breakfast will be served. Come prepared to share in food, fellowship, and learning.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
American civil rights leader (1929-1968)

“Our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world…as in being able to remake ourselves.”
Mohandas K. Gandhi
Indian political and spiritual leader (1869-1948)

“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect. “
Chief Seattle
Leader of the Suquamish and Duwamish Native American Tribes (1786 –1866)

Kansas City Symphony

Come hear the marvelous Kansas City Symphony, Thursday, January 31, at 7:30 p.m. in the magnificent acoustic of the Auditorium! The Symphony’s 80-member orchestra performs more than fifty regular season concerts each year, as well as educational programs, community outreach performances, Lyric Opera and Kansas City Ballet presentations, and our own annual performance of Handel’s Messiah.

Tickets for this concert are FREE, but should be reserved in advance by calling the Symphony Box Office at 816-471-0400.
