Hurricane Ike Update
From Terry Shelton: Thanks so much for your
prayers and concern for those who were in the path of Hurricane Ike. In Coastal
Bend Mission Center, Joanne Chapman has been the person who has maintained
communication with pastors, who have been very diligent in contacting the
members and friends of their congregations. Many evacuated, and there are a
number of families who have not yet returned to their homes. Some chose to stay
in the area.
Almost all of the families have been located, and no one has
reported injury. Several families have suffered damage to their homes. Trees and
fences are down, some roofs are damaged, and some homes have water damager
inside.
Not all of the church buildings are accessible as yet, so the
degree of damage to church buildings is not known. However there are some
reporting roof and water damage and trees and debris to remove. Your prayers and
expressions of support have been a blessing.
From Mike Hoffman: The remnants of Hurricane Ike
came through the southern Indiana/northern Kentucky area, Sunday afternoon,
September 14, downing trees, power lines, and damaging property. One television
station in the Louisville area reported that winds of 50 m.p.h. were sustained
for over four hours, with gusts up to 75 m.p.h. Cindy Taylor, Glenn Wood Hills
Camp and Retreat Resident Manager reports limbs down, windows damaged, and
expects the campgrounds to be without power for several more days.
Many families in the southern part of the mission center are
without electricity and some are staying with friends or family. Utilities have
been restored to 118,000 homes, with 189,000 remaining. Schools in the area are
closed; only half have power.
To date, we have not received word of any church families who
have been injured or who have had severe property damage. Please remember our
mission center, neighbors, and friends in prayer.

IHQ Directory
After the all-staff meeting on April 2, the IHQ Operations Team
formed a subteam to develop a directory of IHQ staff. The team sent out a survey
to asking various questions. Seventy-five people responded and the information
they provided has been compiled in a report. You can access the report through
your Microsoft Outlook Account.
Viewing the Directory
On the Go menu just below your navigation pane, click on the
folder icon.
Click on the plus sign next to “Public Folders.”
Continue to open the public folders until you reach the IHQ Info folder. The
directory tree is shown below.
Double-click on the file “IHQ Directory.” A posted message will appear and you
can click on the attachment to view or save the attachment to your desktop.
Making Changes to the Directory
The team is now looking into ways to best present this information in the
future. For now please take a look at the information and give it try. To search
for a keyword, press Ctrl F. The report will be updated regularly.
If you did not get a chance to take part in the survey and would
like to do so now, please
take the survey. It only takes about ten minutes to complete. If you want to
make a change to your answers, please send your changes to your Enrichment Group
Leader.
Thank you to everyone who took part in creating the directory.
If you have any questions about the directory, please contact one of the team
members.
