Congratulations
Jan Kraybill passed her
Associateship Examination—a professional certification for the American
Guild of Organists. It requires several hours of paperwork tests that
cover analysis of a composition from any time period, style, or
performance, finishing a composition for organ for which she was given the
beginning, answering questions on music history with emphasis on
contemporary trends, liturgy, organ construction and maintenance, choral
music, and organ repertoire.
It also includes
significant organ playing including specific repertoire called for as well
as transposition, sight-reading, hymn playing, and improvisation. Jan’s
next daily organ recital is Friday, July 18 at 3 p.m.
