Cedar Rapids Flood Recovery
When Cedar Rapids, Iowa, experienced record flooding in June 2008, members and
friends of the Community of Christ responded to the need. We are living
our mission in Cedar Rapids by dedicating time, money, and willing hands to help
the city’s recovery. (10:26) Check out this video feature at

Christmas Giving Opportunity
For many years the Independence School District has sponsored families in
need at Christmas time, providing food and gifts. This year the need is greater
than ever and as part of the Independence community, we can help! The IHQ
staff has exemplified the call to share generously through the donation of 260
food items to the Community Services League food pantry during Thanksgiving.
We now have the opportunity to increase that generous response by
supporting the Independence School District’s Christmas "adoption" program. Below is a list of items that will make wonderful Christmas
gifts for families around the Independence area. Collection barrels will be at
staff entrances through December 8. If you purchase gift cards, please give them
directly to Carina Wilson, Susan Naylor, Sue Sloan or Mica Wiemann.
