The 2007 Staff Recognition
Event will be held on Thursday, September 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45
p.m. in the lower assembly room of the Auditorium. The time allows everyone to
be available to attend the Daily Prayer for Peace at 1:00 p.m. The theme this
year is a sports theme―"Tail Gate Party". The menu includes brisket, baked
beans, coleslaw, bread and dessert. Punch and ice water will also be served. The
event will be casual attire. Please join us for lunch, fellowship and fun as we
honor our IHQ volunteers, co-workers and retirees for their years of dedicated
service to the mission and work of the Church.
November Staff Worship and Luncheon
A staff worship and
luncheon will be held in mid-November. A specific date will be set by the end
of September. If you are interested in assisting with the service/luncheon
planning or would like to participate in some way in the service, please contact
Susan Naylor by September 14, 2007.
Leaders Gathering at Lake Doniphan
Field leaders will gather
at Lake Doniphan Retreat and Conference Center Monday evening, September 17
through Thursday, September 20 at noon to focus on the church’s mission and
direction. A small number of IHQ staff will also participate in this
gathering. Many field leaders will arrive the week before or stay afterwards to
meet with IHQ staff regarding various issues. Thank you for making your time
available to meet with staff from around the world. Meetings during the week of
September 10-14 include an extended World Church Leadership Council. A number
of persons attending are coming from various parts of the church.
Backing up your Outlook files is essential
Please take a few minutes
today to backup your Outlook files. For information on archiving and backup
functions, go to

to follow instructions will walk you through the process. You’ll rest easy
knowing that you can access the files if anything happens to your computer or
hard drive.
2008
Calendars
A representative from
Corporate Express will be here October 3 with samples of 2008 calendars. You
can check these out between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the Temple break room.
If you decide to order one, check with your team leader or E-Group leader to
determine who in your area has access to Corporate Express and can place an
order for you.
Chartering of Teams
Teams continue to be
chartered and many of the charters that were originally created as a result of
the redesign are being reviewed and updated. A list of all chartered teams is
available at

Charters can be accessed at M:\Teams. Please contact your Enrichment Group
Leader if you don’t have access to the M:\ drive and are interested in a copy of
a particular team’s charter.
5,000th
Daily Prayer for Peace
On August 13 International
Headquarters celebrated the 5,000th Daily Prayer for Peace. There
were 88 people in attendance for this milestone event. A small reception and
fellowship followed this special worship in the Temple. Continue to join in this
unique worship when you are in Independence; or pause each day, wherever you
are, for a moment of silent prayer and know that you are raising your voice in
unison with others for world peace.

Save these dates for
upcoming E-Group meetings this fall.

World Church Leadership
Support meets at 8:30 a.m.; Ministry Support Specialists meet at 2:00 p.m. and
Service Support Specialists meet at 3:30 p.m. All meetings are currently
scheduled for the Continents Room. IHQ staff residing outside the Independence
area will be included through a teleconference.
