Church Planting Brings Challenges
BY EPHIM BRUDSKY, Eurasia Mission Center church planter
We have good news—and prayer concerns—about taking the good news to another European country.
After corresponding and talking by phone for months with several people in Georgia, my son, Kuzma, and I flew to Tbilisi, the capital. After several days of classes and worship, five Georgians were baptized and confirmed in February 2011.
Though the Georgia constitution provides religious freedom, it also extends special privilege to the Georgian Orthodox Church. That church believes foreign missionary work should be confined to non-Christian areas.
That is why you do not see our new Georgian members pictured. They fear difficulties for their jobs, studies, and neighborhood relationships.
They need our prayers for the hope they have in Jesus Christ. They yearn for the strength to share the witness of Community of Christ’s commitment in proclaiming Jesus Christ and promoting communities of joy, hope, love, and peace.
