A New Designated-Giving Initiative

Imagine wanting to share the peace of Jesus Christ so passionately that 20 people cram into an apartment that is only the size of a bedroom. For Community of Christ members and friends in Russia and Ukraine, having a comfortable building with room enough to worship, fellowship, and host activities is only a dream. You can change that by participating in the new designated- giving initiative, Places of Peace: Russia to Ukraine. Your gift will help reach thousands of souls who are desperate to come, be changed, and discover the hope of the gospel.

An amount of $330,000 will help provide sacred spaces to worship, provide social ministry, and experience the peace of Jesus Christ. Buildings will be purchased and converted into sacred spaces. Russia and Ukraine church members will provide much of the labor to renovate the interiors. We can do it, with your help.

How to Give
From September 2008 through January 2009, congregations, families, or individuals may contribute any amount. Contributions received over the $330,000 goal will be used for additional Russia and Ukraine congregations and to provide ministries of peacemaking in those countries.

Please join us to help build places of peace in Novosibirsk, Moscow, and Voronezh in Russia; Odessa and Kiev in Ukraine:

• Designate your gift of $3,000, $2,000, $1,000, $500, etc.

• Indicate your Places of Peace: Russia to Ukraine contribution on the World Ministries portion of your mission tithes offering envelope from September 2008 through January 2009.

• Mail a check to Community of Christ International Headquarters. (In Canada, mail it to the Bishop of Canada.)

• Visit www.CofChrist.org and click on Places of Peace: Russia to Ukraine to contribute online with a debit or credit card anytime, day or night.

• Access online banking in the United States to give directly through your bank account (payable in U.S. dollars to Community of Christ International Headquarters, Presiding Bishopric, Places of Peace: Russia to Ukraine, P.O. Box 1059, Independence, Missouri 64050 USA).
