Oblation Aid to Myanmar

To assist in relief efforts to Myanmar, which suffered a catastrophic cyclone on May 3, Community of Christ gave $50,000 from its Oblation Fund to CARE International. Community of Christ members expressed an urgent desire to help, and there was awareness that relief agency access to Myanmar was difficult. Thanks to generous ongoing support of the Oblation Fund, the church was able to respond.

CARE International has worked in Myanmar for 14 years and has 500 staff members already positioned in the country. Church members and friends are encouraged to contribute to Oblation to enable additional aid to be given. We want to help with both immediate relief and the rebuilding effort that will be necessary in coming months.
CARE has been responding to urgent needs for safe water, sanitation, food, and basic family items for displaced people with the full support and cooperation from local authorities. Learn more on CARE’s Web site at www.careinternational.org.uk.
