Hiroshima-Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Photo Poster Exhibition in
the USA
At Community of Christ Temple, Independence, Missouri
Community of Christ Temple will host the Hiroshima-Nagasaki
Atomic Bomb Photo Poster Exhibition in the USA from September 1 through 14. The travelling exhibit is
presented by the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and brought to Independence by
PeaceWorks Kansas
City. All are invited to view the
exhibit from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with limited hours on Labor Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
and Sundays from 1:00 to 4 p.m.
All are invited on Friday, September 5, for a
reception beginning at 7:00 p.m. followed by a panel discussion with a delegation of four people from Japan.
One participant, an A-bomb survivor, will share testimony.
Presenters of the exhibit share that “Hiroshima and
Nagasaki were the first cities to experience the horror of nuclear weapons. Both
were devastated in an instant, and tens of thousands of precious lives were
lost. Many of those who managed to survive still suffer today from disorders
attributable to A-bomb radiation.”
The exhibit is one form of appeal from survivors and
activists whose wishes are for this to never happen again.
