Question and Answer Fact Sheet
Why are the Herald House Production and Distribution functions being
outsourced?
Studies indicate that outsourcing these functions will be more cost
effective and produce a healthier bottom line by allowing the business to pay
for services as needed (i.e. providing coverage during peak times such as
world conference without retaining full staff for slower periods).
Who will be handling these functions for Herald House?
A Kansas City based company has been hired to handle distribution and
production functions.
Will Herald House employees lose their jobs?
As this restructuring occurs, Herald House will retain as many positions as
possible. Human Resource Ministries will be available to assist employees in
job placement.
When will this transition occur?
Herald House must give notice to Geospace by July 31, 2005 and vacate the
current distribution facility by October 31, 2005.
How will this affect the ability to get in-house printing and mail
services?
These functions will be available in a modified form. More details on these
operations will be available after the September gathering, "Sharing the Peace
of Christ: Collaborative Design of Mission Support Ministries."
