Community Service Project at Joseph Smith Historic Site
The Joseph Smith Historic Site was the
recipient of the
community service project performed by campers from the junior high youth camp from the Cedar Valley-Nauvoo Mission Center that was held at Camp Nauvoo
during the summer of 2004.
These young people gave the maintenance shed a new coat of paint,
which improved the aesthetic appeal of the site to visitors. Camp directors Dana
McGuire and Nancy Williams stated that it was important for these young people
to recognize the need for and to participate in community service projects as
part of their discipleship. The Joseph Smith Historic Site is pleased to have provided them a safe environment
for learning about the need for community service.
