SEEING WITH NEW EYES
The Village Heights and East Alton congregations of Independence, Missouri, work together to offer Jesus and Me clubs at a community center for the Hawthorne Place neighborhood. World Service Corps volunteer Rachel Kuchar worked with the kids at the center. She said, "None of these kids had ever been to camp before." Thanks to Rachel's encouragement, more than 30 Hawthorne kids enjoyed the nurturing camp environment. "I was kind of experiencing camp for the first time with them."
