A Generous Response
Imagine everything you own is covered in muddy water—nothing is salvageable. Historic floods in June 2008 washed away entire homes and businesses as Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went under water. The generous response of Community of Christ has left a lasting impression on this community. The powerful combination of the local congregation’s dedication of money, building space, and hours of volunteer effort coupled with donations from the World Church Oblation Fund, have played an integral part in the rebuilding process, which will take years.
