building new churchPartnering in Community

Villanueva is a rapidly expanding industrial town in Honduras. Elder Giovani Salgado, Pimienta congregation, was one of thousands of workers in the clothing industry. He began sharing the gospel with workers and opened his garage for a new church plant.

From that mountaintop garage overlooking Villanueva, the congregation grew. Pastor Consuelo Mendez formed a partnership between the local people and the International Capital Fund to build a church. More than 300 people attended the November 2008 dedication.

Community representatives spoke with pride of their involvement in constructing this new church and community center. More than 100 people have made it their church home and continue to witness to the community with excitement and love as they share the peace of Jesus Christ.
