Hymnal Project Singing what we believe

After receiving a recommendation from a hymnal exploration team, the World Church Leadership Council endorsed the creation of an international song and hymn resource for the church.  The new hymnal is scheduled to be presented to the church at the 2013 World Conference.

One of the primary reasons for embarking on a hymnal project is the need to clearly articulate the church’s message, mission, and identity in songs that help us sing what we believe. We take very seriously the responsibility to help shape future disciples through song.

As part of our information-gathering process, we are asking the entire church to take part in an evaluation of the songs in our four existing hymnals: Hymns of the Saints, Sing for Peace, Sing a New Song, and By Request through an online survey available until December 31, 2008.
