World Hunger Famine Relief for Kenya
Kenya has experienced a severe drought during the past two seasons,
leading to a severe shortage of water and food. Further deficiencies in
rainfall are expected. In March, $17,000 requested from the World Hunger
Fund was allocated to provide famine relief for people around the country.
On behalf of the church’s national council in Nairobi, Kenya, chairman
Daniel Juma Amach reported, “The majority of our church members and
communities are in arid and semi-arid areas, which cover both urban and
rural areas, and are now facing serious impacts from hunger, thirst,
malnutrition, and destitution.” Financial officer for the West, South, and
East Africa Mission Centers Robert Wanga said, “The situation is urgent.”
Thank you to generous contributors around the world, who make it possible
for the World Hunger Fund to respond to needs such as these.
