Grants Available to Help Feed The Hungry
The Alan Shaw
Feinstein Foundation has pledged $1,000,000 to be divided proportionally
among non-profit organizations that work to feed the hungry. You are invited to
raise funds during March and April to meet hunger needs in your local
community--either on your own, as a congregation, or in cooperation with a local
food pantry. At the end of April, a report including how much money was raised,
how many people were involved in the fund raising, and how many people donated
must be submitted. All who raise funds during March and April to meet local
hunger needs and file a report will receive a portion of the $1,000,000 to
benefit their local effort.
If there is a chance you may want to participate in this project, please
register your interest by December 20 with Joyce Carter at joyceanncarter3@hotmail.com
or call (352) 637-0206. Registration does not commit you to anything, but leaves
the door open for participation for you or your congregation.
Joyce, a church member from Rhode Island, is volunteering her time to work on
behalf of the Community of Christ World
Hunger Committee to coordinate this ministry. Joyce will notify all who
register of deadlines and specific procedures, as well as help with the brief
required report.
Questions can be directed to Joyce at joyceanncarter3@hotmail.com
