Criteria for Nominations
Persons nominated for the International
Human Rights Award for Service to Humanity will have exhibited courage, perseverance, and
vision in accomplishing one or more of the following:

Maintained a sustained commitment and given exceptional service to
humankind in affirming the essential rights of peaceful assembly, free speech, specific
cultural identities, formation of mutually cooperative human communities, or freedom from
fear and threats to personal safety and well-being.

Been in the forefront of causes working to alleviate human
suffering and to promote basic human rights.

Had an impact on a community outside of the church---on a local,
national, or international level.

Had an impact on church policy, hymnody, curriculum, theology, or
other area.
