A. Disciples’ Generous Response Story: World
Rio Grande USA Mission Center—Prepare the Way
Each Sunday we are invited to “share equally” with Mission Tithes for local
and world ministries. These stories are provided to keep us in touch with how
your contributions to Mission Tithes are spreading the peace of Jesus Christ.
This story, Prepare the Way, takes us to the Rio Grande USA Mission Center.
Bruce Darrington reflects: The Clovis, New Mexico Community of Christ is small,
made up of mostly older people on fixed incomes. Despite their incomes, they
wanted to impact their community in a positive way.
During the past two years the congregation received a Tangible Love Grant for
its Lighthouse Ministries. This is the main organization that ministers to the
poorest of the poor in the community. Lighthouse Ministries, with regular,
weekly ministry by elder Billy Don Price, makes a positive impact in the lives
of people and in the relationship between the church and the Clovis community.
Your contributions to Oblation, which includes Tangible Love, make a difference
in the lives of people you will never meet. Thank you for responding faithfully
by sharing so very generously.—Bruce Darrington, president and financial
officer, Rio Grande USA Mission Center
B. Disciples’ Generous Response Story: Local
What is happening to you or in your congregation as a result of giving to
local ministries through Mission Tithes? Share those experiences as part of your
congregation’s Disciples’ Generous Response.

C. Blessing on Our Offering
From Malachi 3:1 (NRSV) we read: See, I am sending my messenger to prepare
the way before me, and the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple.
Sharing our Mission Tithes equally between local and world ministries is part
of sharing the peace of Jesus Christ. Let us share in the prayer of blessing for
our offering.
