A. Disciples’ Generous Response Story: World

Australia Mission Centre—Honor with Your Heart

Each Sunday we are invited to “share equally” with Mission Tithes for local and world ministries. These stories are provided to keep us in touch with how your contributions to Mission Tithes are spreading the peace of Jesus Christ.

This story, Honor with Your Heart, takes us to the Australia Mission Centre. Ken Barrows relates: I met a young woman recently at a young adult event who had come into contact with the church through an unconventional ministry. The congregation through which she received God’s grace has no doors or windows. It is an open-air chapel nestled in a grove of trees along the shore. It is a place where people in the community come for weddings and for special times, open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In that space a group of people who sensing God’s call to them began to meet regularly to form sacred community. It was there, amid that intentional fellowship of love, where she encountered God’s unconditional love. The catalyst for this model ministry was a World Church minister who acted in response to the promptings of God’s spirit to honor her heart. It was her role to see new possibilities for ministry and to explore new avenues for worship and fellowship.

A new community of disciples was born – Green Cathedral Ministries, found on the grounds of Camp Tiona. This young women’s testimony blessed my life. I’m grateful to the World Church minister and to God’s spirit for working together to create the space where her life-changing encounter with God could take place. C. Blessing on Our Offering

From Doctrine and Covenants 161:3d we read: Understand that the road to transformation travels both inward and outward. The road to transformation is the path of the disciple.

Sharing our Mission Tithes equally between local and world ministries allows others to share the witness of Jesus Christ. Let us share in the prayer of blessing for our offering.
